Receive Health Care Services

BPHN is a collaborative effort between professionals from across Montgomery County dedicated to addressing the healthcare needs of insured, underinsured, & uninsured residents by providing culturally-relevant and sensitive services.

What is the Black Physicians & Healthcare Network (BPHN)?

The Black Physicians & Healthcare Network (BPHN) has a referral network of providers that are committed to serving the healthcare needs of Montgomery County, MD residents in a culturally-sensitive manner.

Montgomery County is one of the healthiest counties in the State of Maryland, however, health disparities continue to exist within the Black community. Factors that contribute to health disparities include racial difference in treatment of disease, delays in seeking diagnosis or treatment, overuse of emergency departments, and lack of healthcare resources.

We seek to eliminate these health disparities by connecting patients to health care and resources, advocacy, education, and outreach.

Studies show that access to resources plays a significant role in health outcomes. Individuals who have access to primary care are much more likely to benefit from preventive services and routine screenings.
