Community Gathers for Juneteenth Celebration in Germantown


Residents joined Montgomery County’s 25th Juneteenth celebration Saturday at the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown. 


The Black Physicians and Healthcare Network (BPHN) offered COVID-19 testing and vaccinations at the event, and promoted mental health resources. Krystal Holland, BPHN Director, said Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom.

MoCo Covid-19 Procedural Video: Don't Stress, Take the Test!


Knowing your status is one of the best ways to protect yourself and others. We must preserve our health and stay cognizant of factors that put us at risk for chronic illness including viruses. So, BPHN is hosting free Covid-19 tests in Montgomery County, MD. The procedure is quick, self-administered, and everyone receives a bag of food and a large pandemic swag box, including masks, gloves, sanitizer, a digital thermometer, and more! We will also have vaccine pre-registration on site. Let’s remain vigilant since communities of color are dying 3x the rate of the general population from the virus. 

AAHP Expands Free COVID-19 Testing                                


(Rockville, MD) –The African American Health Program Executive Committee’s (AAHP-EC) Targeted COVID-19 Response program has partnered with influencers and celebrities like NFL sportscaster James Brown of CBS Sports, local radio and television personality Guy Lambert, and R&B recording artist Raheem DeVaughn in order to reach its goal of testing 15,000 Black residents in Montgomery County, MD.
