What Is The Black Motherhood Project?
The Black Motherhood Project is a community-based maternal and infant health initiative created to improve health outcomes for Black mothers and babies.
We focus on building an ecosystem of care that supports you across the first 1,000 days of motherhood — from pregnancy through postpartum and early childhood.

This program is for Black women and families who want more support during pregnancy and early motherhood.

• Black women who are postpartum or recently gave birth
• Black mothers seeking education, connection, or resources
• Black families navigating care, insurance, or social services

Services offered/available
As a participant in The Black Motherhood Project, you’ll have access to care and support designed specifically for Black mothers and families:

Access to Doulas and Midwives
– Culturally concordant birth and postpartum support

Prenatal and Postpartum Support Groups – Safe spaces for connection and healing

Transportation assistance
– Help getting to appointments and services
•
Resources for breast pumps and lactation services
– Tools and guidance for your feeding journey

Monthly educational workshops and webinars
– Workshops and webinars on maternal and infant health
